I am SO happy to be living in Basser. It's like being a freshman all over again. Everyone who I have met so far seems really nice and there's a mix of Aussie and international students. There's 12 of us "freshers" which are basically all the new kids, so the orientation leaders (Bec, Erica, Hamish, and Crackers) have set up events for the next few days. Tonight we had an awesome mixer with all the freshers from Baxter in this club in Kings Cross called World Bar, where they serve mixed drinks in teacups! Tomorrow there is a pajama breakfast (they force us up at 7) and a city-wide scavenger hunt. Ah, forced fun. How I have missed you.
They also set up the dorm building into alcoves, with four singles in each area and then this becomes a family, with two siblings, a mom and a dad. It's a cute way to get to know people.
I was so overwhelmed yesterday I almost had a nervous breakdown. We went on a tour of the UNSW campus and it is huge!! I mean, there are 40,000 students, so I dont know what I was expecting. But today it all seemed a little more manageable, so that's a good start.
My schedule is set also now and I am taking: Australian Legends (history), Psychology of Food, The Marine Environment, and On Drugs: Pharmaceuticals. Haha! I think I am going to enjoy this semester. I have class all day on Monday without any breaks, half a day on Tuesday, no class on Wednesday, one class from 2:00-4:00 on Thursday, and no class on Friday. I hope it gets warm soon so that I can spend all that free time at the beach!
I have finally set up internet in my room, so let's plan skype dates!
